There are over 9,945 kids in the foster care system today. Of that 9,945, nearly 2,244 of them are legally free for adoption. Last year, over 800 youth aged out of the foster care system. If you have the desire to serve a youth in foster care by providing a loving, supportive, safe, and stable relationship through permanency you should consider adopting.
Adoption is a beautiful and wonderful demonstration of the reality of God’s goodness, love, and embrace to a child who desires the belonging, support, and commitment of a family. When we adopt, through the strength and grace of God, we get to live out the sacrifice and commitment that we have already received and now give to those who are worthy of His goodness and promise.
We envision a future in which every child is loved and nurtured in a Christ-centered family. Every child should have the opportunity to be part of a loving family who is able to support them through their adolescence and into adulthood. Even as adults, these youth need supportive relationships in their lives to navigate challenges and to celebrate joyful events and occasions. As Christians, we get the privilege of being part of God’s family and to experience this through the local church. God’s intention is for his people to be in community and the family unit is one of the best places to experience His love, healing, and growth. No child should be without a family or have to walk through life alone without a sense of permanency and assurance of the love of God.
